Happy Mother's Day! (Quarantine: Mother's Day Edition)

So I wasn’t able to spend Mother’s Day with my mom this year (I haven’t been able to for awhile since she’s in San Francisco and I was always in NYC or now LA) but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate her love from afar! I also did some nice mother’s day stuff for Paula, Matt’s mom, like I made Egg’s Benedict for everyone because I am QUITE the chef, and I painted her plant shelf for her and stuff. But no one will ever be better than MY mommy because she literally BIRTHED me and I am a GIFT to the world. But seriously, my mother Gina is one of the strongest, kindest, and most fiercely loyal women I have ever met. And I am lucky to be her daughter. She has a sharp tongue (which I inherited), a tall statuesque frame of almost 6’ (which unfortunately I did not inherit), and a loyalty to her family that surpasses any other bond (which I hope I inherited). She’s given everything she has to her family, and I’d like to be like her some day. I can’t wait till I have kids too and she can show my children the same love she showed me and Cordelia. My Dad is a lucky husband, and Cordelia and I are lucky daughters. The thing I’ll always remember about my mom is that I had a really hard time starting school in kindergarten. I didn’t want to go, I wanted to hang out with my family (some things never change) and I’d cry a lot (some things DO change). But my mom would wait around school all day and would be only a call away if I had to go home. Assembly was first thing in the morning, and sometimes my mom would come and sit with me during it, or sometimes she’d wait by the door. I’d keep looking at the door during assembly, and she was always still there, giving me a wave and a smile. My mom is beautiful inside and out. I love you Mommy!
