Night Out with the Gals

So I still can’t say what Western project I did last year, but I CAN say that I made some lasting friends on set. Last night we all went to see Amanda’s boyfriend perform in his band, Goth Dad. I was skeptical, because usually when people invite you to their significant other or friend’s show, you have to be all “oh, this is great…” but it’s really just okay at best. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Goth Dad actually is GREAT! Her boyfriend plays the drums, and he was amazing! And the lead singer…all of them were actually pretty good. Their sound is called “Dream Punk” and it is a perfect description, because it does seem somewhat dream-like, with a strong beat, and a melodic throughline. It took me back to my middle school days growing up with alternative rock. Great night, with some great friends!
