The Foxhole Stories: August 16th Reading!

So, last post I said we’d have less going on, and it’s true, we do…but also we started writing another Foxhole Stories play, just because we can’t HELP ourselves! This one is about the repetition of what happened in Vietnam and Afghanistan. We’ve been doing some research, and shockingly, there are some striking similarities culturally. So we thought, oh it would be interesting if we had some surrealistic play where there was a marine from Vietnam and a marine from Afghanistan in the same foxhole together…and it fell in place after that! Not sure we’ll be able to produce this one right away, as it may prove to be quite costly…it might be one of those plays we hold onto in our back pockets. A major inspiration for the play was the song “Feel Like I’m Fixin’ To Die” by Country Joe & the Fish, which was made in the 1970s, during the Vietnam War. If you’ve got a minute, check it out. It’s raw, ironic, and sends chills down your spine with its morbid humor. Pictured with me below are fellow company members Zac Diamond and Joe King!
